Arohan means to rise. Rooted in the values of compassion and service, Arohan Trust is a public charitable organization working for the upliftment of poor and needy communities since 2010. In collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Kamrup District Branch, we have been actively addressing the needs of marginalized families through health, livelihood, education, climate action, and disaster management initiatives. Registered under the Indian Trust Act on 2nd July 2010, Arohan Trust is also recognized under 12AB and 80G, ensuring transparency and accountability in our work.

Arohan Trust partners with Goonj to drive community-led change. Through Cloth for Work, villagers improve local infrastructure like roads, schools, and water channels while receiving clothes and essentials with dignity. The Sustainable Village Model builds eco-friendly, resilient communities by promoting livelihoods and sustainable practices. Meanwhile, the School-to-School program bridges education gaps by channeling books, uniforms, and learning materials from urban to rural schools, ensuring every child has access to basic resources.
Our plantation initiatives, including the notable drive at Lampi village, aim to restore green cover and strengthen environmental resilience. Community members and farmers are actively involved in planting saplings of arecanut, lemon, cocoa, banana, and black pepper to promote agroforestry and sustainable livelihoods. These drives also emphasize youth engagement—students participate in seed ball making activities, connecting them with nature and instilling responsibility towards protecting the environment.
Arohan Trust regularly conducts awareness programs to address health, climate, and social challenges at the grassroots level. Health awareness sessions focus on maternal and child care, menstrual hygiene, nutrition, and preventive health practices, ensuring families adopt healthier lifestyles. Climate change workshops build understanding of disaster preparedness, water conservation, and eco-friendly livelihood practices, equipping communities in flood-prone areas with resilience strategies.
